PLANNING COMMISSION
Morgan County, West Virginia
The Morgan County Planning Commission was created in
accordance with the West Virginia Code Chapter 8A-1-1 in order to promote
orderly development and to protect and provide for the public health,
safety and general welfare of the citizens of Morgan County.
The Planning Commission and staff administers six ordinances
along with the issuance of building permits. These ordinances are the:
The Planning Commission consists of an 11 member volunteer
board in which its members are appointed by the Morgan County Commission.
The Board meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
in the County Commission Office.
The Morgan County Comprehensive Plan update was adopted by the Morgan County Commission on March 23, 2007. The document is available for review online, at the Morgan County Planning Office and the Morgan County Records Room.
The Morgan County Water Resources Study was completed and adopted by the Morgan County Commission on March 23, 2007. The study was conducted by Gannett Fleming engineering group from Fairfax, Virginia. The document is available for review online under Supporting Documentation and at the Morgan County Planning Office.
